The "Aha" Moment That Changed Everything

Lately, I’ve been having these smack-in-the-head realizations about intentionality. The latest one came while editing a podcast episode with Rachel Closson. She shared insights that truly resonated with me, and I couldn’t ignore how much intentionality has been showing up in my own life.

From deep conversations in therapy to planning a trip with my powerhouse entrepreneur friends, I've realized that the way we show up in our relationships, businesses, and even in simple gatherings—like a dinner with friends—makes all the difference.

Intentionality in Relationships: Making Every Moment Count

A recent therapy session brought this idea home for me. I have two incredible friends—one from Kansas, one from Colorado—whom I met at a powerhouse Women’s Summit last year. Life is busy, and we don’t live near each other, so our upcoming ski trip is one of the few times we’ll be together this year. That made me realize: this time with them needs to be fully intentional.

I want to be present. I want to make meaningful memories. And I don’t want to take this connection for granted. Being hyper-intentional about relationships ensures that even if we don’t see each other often, our bond remains strong.

The Intentional Power of Curation

Another example? A recent Galentine’s dinner I hosted. Some dinners I’ve attended have left me feeling full—not just physically, but emotionally. Others? Not so much. And I realized: the setup, the energy, the personalities at the table—all of it matters.

A round table fosters better conversation than a rectangular one. The right mix of personalities can turn a simple gathering into an unforgettable experience. It’s about curation—being intentional about who you invite, where you gather, and the vibe you want to create. This applies to events, business networking, and even the team you build in your company.

Small Intentional Choices = Big, Lasting Results

Intentionality isn’t just about big, grand gestures. It’s in the small choices we make every day. Choosing logic over emotions. Setting a clear goal instead of winging it. Adjusting our habits in tiny, sustainable ways that lead to massive change over time.

For example, I recently set a personal goal: connect 10 people this year. So far, I’ve introduced six people who can help each other grow in business. Without that goal in mind, I probably wouldn’t have been as proactive in making those introductions. That’s the power of setting an intention.

Stop Living on Autopilot: How Intentionality Can Change Your Life and Bank Account

Ever feel like your money disappears into a black hole? Like you wake up, check your bank account, and think, Where did it all go? Same. Guilty.

Spending feels good. It brings a little dopamine rush. A quick mood boost. But without intentionality, you’re spending by habit instead of purpose. And that, my friend, is the fastest way to stay stuck in a cycle where your money controls you instead of the other way around.

A money coach once told me: Make a list before you go to the store. If it’s not on the list, don’t buy it. Sounds easy, right? Except for me, it's so hard.

I walk in planning to spend $50, and somehow, I walk out $175 poorer. And guess what? That extra $100? It’s coming from somewhere. That could have gone into investments, self-care, or even just staying in my account for peace of mind. Instead, it went into impulse buys I won’t even remember next week.

But when I set a clear intention—when I plan and stick to it—I spend smarter. And let me tell you, that’s how financial freedom is built. One intentional decision at a time.

Success Doesn’t Happen by Accident

Let’s talk about business. Career success doesn’t just land in your lap. It’s built through intentional effort and showing up for yourself.

You want that promotion? Put in the hours. Want to grow your business? Send the emails. Want to be recognized as a leader? Speak up. Nothing happens by accident. You have to put yourself in the right rooms, have the right conversations, and do the work.

And let’s be real: if you don’t make strategic career moves, you’re going to stay stuck where you are. Period.

Relationships Require More Than Just Existing

Listen, I’m the first to admit I can get caught up in my own world. Work, stress, responsibilities—it’s easy to let relationships slide. But meaningful connections don’t just happen. They require effort.

I recently made a decision to be more intentional about my friendships. That meant planning time together, actually picking up the phone instead of texting, and making sure the people I love know they matter.

Because here’s the truth: If you don’t make time for people, you’ll wake up one day and realize you have no one left. Relationships are investments. If you neglect them, they dry up.

Your Health Won’t Fix Itself

We all know we should eat better, move more, and sleep enough. But knowing isn’t the same as doing.

If you want to be healthy, you have to schedule it in. No excuses. I learned this the hard way when I let my schedule burn me out. My calendar was packed, I was overwhelmed, and I realized—I was the one doing it to myself.

Now, I’m intentional about my time. I schedule workouts like meetings. I plan healthy meals instead of winging it. I book self-care like it's a work appointment. Because if I don’t, it doesn’t happen. And I refuse to let stress take me down.

Time: The One Thing You Can Never Get Back

You ever fall into the social media black hole and suddenly two hours are gone? Yeah, me too. And it makes me sick when I realize I could have used that time to do something that actually matters.

Time is your most valuable resource. You can always make more money, but you’ll never get back wasted time. If you don’t control your time, distractions will.

The Bottom Line: Your Life Is Your Responsibility

If you don’t intentionally shape your finances, career, relationships, health, and time… someone else will. And you might not like where they take you.

The best way to change your life is to take ownership. Make decisions with purpose. Plan ahead. Set boundaries. And execute.

Final Takeaway: Own Your Life with Intentionality

Success, fulfillment, and meaningful relationships don’t happen by accident—they are the result of deliberate, intentional choices. Whether it’s your finances, career, friendships, health, or time, every small decision you make today shapes your future.

The key? Stop operating on autopilot. Take control. Set clear intentions. Follow through with purpose.

You have the power to design the life you want—one intentional action at a time. So, what will you choose to be intentional about today? 🚀
